Description

The Vintage Senneh Rug, measuring 1.92 by 1.34 metres, is a fine example of mid-20th century Persian weaving from the renowned Senneh region in Iran. Crafted around the 1950s, this handwoven rug exhibits the meticulous artistry characteristic of Senneh craftsmanship.

At its centre lies a pale turmeric medallion set against a deep midnight blue field. This is surrounded by delicate coral floral motifs and camel-coloured sunburst rosettes, arranged within an elegant lattice structure. The composition extends into symmetrical columns of stylised blossoms, creating a harmonious and balanced visual rhythm.

The border enhances the design with a rich red band featuring geometric diamond patterns and traditional Persian rosettes. The colour palette combines deep navy, brick red, camel, coral, and ivory tones, delivering a warm yet refined appearance that complements both classic and modern interiors.

Woven with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, the rug maintains excellent condition for its age, preserving crisp details and structural integrity. Its medium size makes it versatile for various living spaces, adding a timeless, authentic touch.
