This Vintage Persian Rug Lilian, measuring 1.45 x 1.05 metres, is a handwoven piece crafted by skilled village artisans from Hamadan, Persia, in the 1950s. Showcasing a striking central medallion, the rug features a rich palette of coral, chocolate brown, ivory, navy blue, as well as varied blue and green tones. The intricate design is framed by stunning borders that highlight its traditional character.
Made from pure wool on a strong cotton foundation, this rug uses vegetable dyes that create natural colour variations known as "abrash," adding depth and authenticity to its appearance. The rug’s thick, solid weave ensures durability while maintaining a soft texture underfoot.
Ideal for bedrooms, studies, or as an artful wall hanging, this vintage Persian rug brings warmth and cultural heritage into any space. As a collectible tribal and village rug, it reflects sustainable craftsmanship from its natural materials and dyes. Signs of gentle wear consistent with its age contribute to its unique charm, and each rug is carefully cleaned and repaired to preserve its condition.
