The Senneh Fine Persian Rug is a vintage handwoven treasure from Senneh, a city in the Kurdish region of Persia. Measuring 1.1 by 0.85 metres, this compact rug features a beige field adorned with an all-over floral pattern that provides a subtle, elegant backdrop.
Dominating the design are large boteh (paisley) motifs, traditionally symbols of fertility in Persian culture. These motifs are rendered in rustic orange with touches of lemon yellow, creating a warm and inviting contrast against the neutral field. The borders stand out with a distinctive rose pattern set on a rich royal blue background, framing the rug with a regal finish.
Crafted from pure wool, the rug’s fine weave and detailed patterning reflect authentic Persian craftsmanship. Its delicate fringes on both ends add to its traditional appeal. Suitable for use as a wall hanging or a decorative floor piece, this rare collectible brings historical character and cultural depth to any space.
Given its vintage nature, this handwoven piece benefits from careful maintenance to preserve its quality and appearance over time.
Selected pieces can be viewed in the intended room so scale, colour and furniture relationships can be judged properly.
