Description

Experience the rich heritage of Persian weaving with the Neyriz Tree of Life rug, a late 19th-century masterpiece measuring 206 x 163 cm. This tribal rug from Neyriz embodies the symbolic Tree of Life, representing themes of rebirth, unity, and eternity.

The rug’s central motif is a majestic tree rising from a deep brown trunk, its branches filled with blooming flowers and birds. These elements are arranged in a symmetrical design, reflecting the harmony of nature. The vibrant red field creates a striking backdrop, enhancing the intricate details of the tree.

Surrounding the main panel is a midnight-blue border featuring tribal animal figures, geometric medallions, stylised shrubs, and traditional Neyriz glyphs. These border designs convey protection, fertility, and cultural stories passed through generations. The colour palette includes warm saffron, rich indigo, ivory, rose, and pomegranate tones, all achieved through natural dyes applied to handspun wool.

Remarkably well-preserved after more than a century, this rug remains structurally sound with vibrant colours. It offers versatility as a statement piece for a wall hanging, a feature beneath ambient lighting, or an elegant addition to a reflective space such as a reading room.
